We’ve added two new interesting features on short.ie. Live Statistics and a Tag Cloud. View them here: http://short.ie/stats

The live statistics show the total number of shortened URLs through the service, and the total number of clicks tracked through each shortened URL.

The tag cloud shows the 50 most popular URLs that have been generated with a vanity URL. The more popular links are shown more prominently in the cloud. As the popularity of the generated links change over time, so will the contents of the cloud, so it might be worth a visit every now and then.

Along with these new features we’ve also improved our URL validation code and now accept full query string parameters as part of a source URL and we can also confirm that our redirects use a 301 code, marking a permanent redirect, which will ensure that any SEO advantages are passed on to their ultimate destination.
